After tremendous tumult and difficulty assimilating into my new home, I am back at the pen. This will be a source of adventure and delight, of triumph and heartache. I miss Chicago, and Viva Las Vegas. Here goes…
Sorry for the lack of updates. The Flamingo Hotel and Casino, as fabulous as it is, sees fit to charge 14 bucks a day for the internet. I am currently sitting at Gordon Bierch, enjoying a chicken sandwich and an Oktoberfest. It is cold and rainy outside, but not for long I am sure.
I am starting to get used to the dryness. I have what everyone calls “Valley Fever.” Dry skin, itchy eyes, really dry sinuses. My lymphnodes are swollen in my neck and I have to use eyedrops 300 times a day. Its starting to get a little better. I guess it is a combination of dry weather and unfamiliar allergens.
For those that havent heard, I did buy a car! I got a brand new Kia Forte Coup. Her name is Lucy.
Also had my first celebrity sighting. Holly Madison walked by me at PH. I plan on becoming very good friends with her.
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. Tragedy struck 115 miles from Las Vegas when my engine seized. The car is toast. I am currently stranded in Las Vegas without transportation. I did find an apartment that I really like. It is a 5 minute drive from work. Unfortunately it is a 40 minute walk to and from work until I get a car. I have to report to work at the Rio on tuesday and wednesday. I am not sure how to get there. I guess I will take a cab.
This has been much more difficult that I imagined. Hopefully that will make the prize sweeter. I will not give up. I will keep bending, but I will not break. I will not go home with my tail between my legs. I came here to do a job, and I will do it.
Finally made it into Amarillo after driving through the worst winter storm I have ever driven through. Tractor trailers were going into ditches. A truck tried to pass us and lost control. He went right into the ditch. Amarillo is a bummer. Nothing but hotels. Our hotel is in the dry part of town, so we can’t even grab a drink and wind down. Today was a huge letdown. We are going to start early tomorrow. Hopefully we have fun adventures to report that dont involve fighting with nature. Good night.
